SINSINAWA DOMINICAN CONGREGATION OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY

Picture

Founded in 1847 by the Venerable Fr. Samuel Mazzuchelli, O.P., (1806-1864) an Italian-born missionary whose cause for canonisation has been introduced, together with two lay women, the Sinsinawa Dominicans came to Trinidad formally in 2001, Prior to that, Sr. Glenda Rodriguez, a Trinidadian, had joined the Congregation in the United States but, due to her father’s ill health, had spend thirty years working in her native land. There she was supported by Sinsinawa Dominican sisters who would join her for a year or two. Now several Trinidadians have joined the Congregation locally.
